Sun City Center Security Patrol
Some 1,200 resident volunteers cover the entire community in brightly marked cars looking for anything that seems out of place or clearly needs attention. They carry no arms but have radios to alert the nearby sheriff’s office when necessary. Sun City Center has the lowest crime rate in the county.

Sun City Emergency Squad Ambulance
Free Basic Life Support ambulance service is provided 7 days a week, 24 hours a day by over 300 resident volunteers. Training for EMTs and other support personnel is provided. Funding is by donations, and staffing is drawn from people just like you. Neighbors helping neighbors is more than just a slogan.
The SCC Emergency Squad also maintains Emergency Contact and Emergency Home Entrance information for residents in case of medical issues or the need to access your home. Stop by and fill out an information card.

Emergency Messaging and Communications
In a severe weather emergency or disaster when communications (landline phone, cell phone & internet services) are interrupted residence of Verona can turn to services provided by the local Amateur Radio community. Below are three key services to help you call for emergency services and/or keep in touch with family & friends outside of Sun City Center.
Disaster Radio Service Program a program offered to Sun City Center by the Kings Point Amateur Radio Club (KPARC) which provides a way to get emergency services in the event we lose landline, cell phone and internet services: https://drs.kparc.org

Severe Weather Notifications: As a member of the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), NWS (National Weather Service) SkyWarn system Eric/WA4EMN provides regular email notifications and voice messaging over the DRS Radio server (see above) during a SkyWarn active.
